Visitor Guide

Patients & Families

For many patients, support from friends, family, and loved ones is more than just appreciated, it is essential for providing the encouragement needed to boost morale and promote healing.

At Doctors Hospital, we believe that a balanced routine of visits from loved ones under some guidelines and plenty of rest for the patient allows for a better recovery. Our visitor guide is in place to:

  • Promote family/ patient‐centered care.
  • Provide restful, non‐disruptive nursing care.
  • Reduce disease transmission by avoiding crowded situations and by asking ill visitors not to visit.
  • Control appropriate access to the hospital

Visitor Policy

In-Patient Rooms, only one attendant and two visitors are allowed to stay with the patient at a time.

In the Wards, only one attendant/visitor is allowed to stay with the patient at a time.

  • Visiting Policy for ICU-3, ICU-6, and CCU Department will be as follow:
    • 11:00 am to 11:15 am
    • 06:00 pm to 06:15 pm
    • 11:00 pm to 11:15 pm
  • Only one person at a time shall be allowed to see the patients

Our patients’ ability to protect themselves from germs and disease is compromised. Exposure to additional illnesses may complicate the healing process and place them at risk. If you are not feeling well or have an illness that could be transferred to our patients, please refrain from visiting. If you are not sure, please check with your health care provider.

Mutual Respect

Doctors Hospital treats all patients and their attendants with courtesy and respect. Our staff expects the same from patients and their attendants. We understand that being in a hospital can oftentimes bring about stress and frustration but rest assured that our top priority is the well-being of all of our patients and visitors.

If there is any incidence of verbal or physical abuse of our staff or violation of hospital rules, we reserve the right to transfer the patient to some other facility and register a complaint with police authorities.

Outside Food

Outside food is not allowed within the hospital. For admitted patients, the hospital Cafeteria works closely with the Clinical Nutrition Department to ensure that patients receive nutritious food that aligns with their recovery objectives. Outside food can compromise these recovery objectives.

For visitors, the Cafeteria and Atrium Café offer a wide variety of main course meals and snacks. At Doctors Hospital, we are committed to providing a clean and sanitary environment for our patients to recover. Outside food can often comprise the cleanliness of the hospital.

Flowers

Flowers are not allowed in patient rooms as some patients have allergies or breathing difficulties. If you wish to give your loved ones something to let them know that you are thinking about their wellbeing, we encourage you to consider a card over flowers.

Smoking Policy

Second-hand smoke is damaging to health and especially dangerous for patients with respiratory or breathing difficulties. Smoking is STRICTLY prohibited within the entire hospital as well as close to our facility.

Children

Children 12 years and below are not allowed for their safety as well as patient recovery reasons. Children are very susceptible to hospital-acquired infection and therefore hospital visits by children must be strictly restricted. Also as your attention may be on your loved one at the hospital, you may not be able to provide the necessary level of supervision that children often require.

Therefore, we encourage you to leave children 12 years and under with a trusted adult while you are visiting your loved one at the hospital. Requests for children to visit patients in certain situations may be approved by the nurse or administrator on duty.
